Appropriately, after my last post about my visit to Sacramento, this week's action involves Africa, specifically the Democratic Republic of Congo, a.k.a. Congo-Kinshasa.
Eve Ensler of The Vagina Monologues fame is calling on people worldwide to write letters to President Joseph Kabila to increase his efforts to halt the atrocious assaults on women perpetrated by Congolese army and police forces as well as the Uganda-backed militia. The attacks here go beyond sexual assault as we think of it, to a point it can only reach in a war zone.
